Painted Bunting

Cathy Miller photographed this Painted Bunting on 8 May 2010 at James Island County Park, South Carolina. Cathy assumes he is a first year male because he was singing and because his plumage appears to be changing. Even though he was not a colorful bird, he had another green bird following him around and hanging out with him.
