Pine Siskin

Wayne Irvin photographed this unusual Pine Siskin on 5 July 2008 at Blowing Rock, Watauga County, North Carolina.

This bird was first observed a couple of days before the photo was obtained, and it was originally seen with another similar individual. Is it leucism or hybridism?
