Rose-breasted Grosbeak
Walt Kent photographed these Rose-breasted Grosbeaks on 7 May 2007 at his feeder in Lenoir, NC.
The worn brown remiges and rectrices are retained from the juvenal plumage and indicate an immature bird. A Downy Woodpecker is in the background.
Walt also scored another hat trick by getting a Northern Cardinal, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, and Indigo Bunting in the same frame.
