A place for information on currently chaseable birds in the Carolinas.

[edit] Mountain Plover

A juvenile Mountain Plover was photographed by Jerry Kerschner at the jetty at Huntington Beach State Park, SC on Weds 10 Oct 2007. There have been no reports since the original sighting. Photos have been posted on flickr and in the Carolina Bird Club photo gallery.

Click on the Huntington Beach State Park link for directions to the park. Note that the jetty is a 1.2 mile walk up the beach from the north beach parking lot.

There are no previous records of Mountain Plover in either South or North Carolina.
