[edit] Description

Cheraw State Park is the oldest state park in South Carolina and also one of the largest. It features a large lake, with a bit of boardwalk along one shore. It is primarily a golfing park at present, but still great natural areas in the less-developed part of the park. Its campgrounds and cabins make it a good base for exploring nearby Sandhills State Forest and Carolina Sandhills NWR.
