Plegadis

Several participants of the Wings Over Water festival photographed this immature Plegadis 7–9 Nov 2008 at the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center, North Carolina. Initially observers assumed it was a Glossy Ibis, but eventually discussion turned to the possibility that it is a White-faced Ibis, a species that has been recorded in North Carolina only one previous time.
