Varied Thrush

Angie and Bill DeLozier photographed this Varied Thrush on 2 Jan 2010 at Chalybeate Springs, Harnett County, North Carolina. This is the first time that Varied Thrush has been photographed in North Carolina; there is only one previous accepted sight record.

Update: A Varied Thrush, likely this same individual, was found dying a few miles away in Angier, NC at the end of January. The specimen is at the North Carolina State Museum of Natural Sciences. Another Varied Thrush was photographed in Fletcher about the same time.
